Managing Editor

Eric Bangeman is the Managing Editor of Ars Technica. In addition to overseeing the daily operations at Ars, Eric also manages story development for the Policy and Automotive sections. Eric has over two decades of experience as a technology journalist, which includes writing extensively on Apple, copyright, the auto industry, and the intersection of technology and public policy, as well as car, e-bike, and hardware reviews. Eric has a BA in History and an MA in Theological Studies in addition to a couple of years of postgraduate work in Computer Science at Loyola University-Chicago and the University of Chicago. Eric lives in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, where he enjoys cycling, playing the bass, and refereeing rugby.
